Top 5 reasons all Marylanders should oppose an ICC

  1. At $3 billion, an ICC would be the most expensive transportation project in Maryland’s history—it threatens much-needed, smaller, local projects around the state. read more

  2. An ICC would suck up toll money statewide, limiting other toll backed investment. read more

  3. An ICC is not designed for, nor does it achieve congestion relief. read more An ICC discourages, and takes money from, transit, especially Metro & Baltimore Rail.

  4. An ICC would cause rapid, scattered development leading to longer commutes, and higher taxes for services like sewer, water, fire and rescue and education.

  5. The ICC would increase air pollution in the region, exacerbating related health problems. It would also degrade water quality in streams leading to the Anacostia, Potomac, and Chesapeake Bay.
